Needless to say, we were so excited that our unexpected two-mile walk home from the mechanic turned into discovering a new neighborhood favorite… Another reminder to always “look up” & be a tourist in your own city.
On Christmas Eve, we stumbled upon a little gem in Santa Monica completely by accident. B had to take her car in to fix her headlights, and the 30 minute wait time we anticipated turned into two hours. So, we decided to walk home to B’s apartment & ended up at the coolest coffee shop on our way.
LO/CAL Coffee & Market features coffee beans roasted in Downtown LA by Stumptown Coffee Roasters & even has cold brew coffee on tap. For those that haven’t tried cold brew coffee, I highly recommend it! It’s brewed without heat and goes through a double filtration process to provide a product that’s flavorful and smooth with a chocolatey finish. Since it was a “cold” winter day in LA, we opted for cappuccinos instead, but we’ll definitely go back for the cold brew on tap – or buy one of the 64 oz. growler sizes for instant refreshment in the comfort of our own homes.
