Football season is back! And let’s face it… our favorite part of Football Sunday is the game day food & keeping an eye on our fantasy football teams. While we do enjoy a good football game, it’s the thought of everyone coming together during football season & sharing fun, food, and plenty of beer that we really love.
To help inspire us on each of the upcoming Sundays, we’ve found 10 of our favorite game-day recipes that we’re either dying to try or have tried & loved. The best part? They’re vegetarian friendly & meat eaters (like our boyfriends) will love them too!
1. Buffalo Cauliflower Dip from Mother Thyme
We’ve never had this recipe, but we love buffalo sauce & cauliflower, so we might as well try it! Mother Thyme’s recipe looks incredible, but we might also add some blue cheese crumbles on top and/or scallions.
2. Mexican 7-Layer Dip from Love & Olive Oil
This recipe from Love & Olive Oil includes chorizo as one of the seven main ingredients, but we’d use soyrizo on our half!
3. Slow Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip from Damn Delicious
It’s no secret that we LOVE spinach artichoke dip. We have one recipe that we make for every family holiday – or just whenever we see our mom! For game day, though, it’s sometimes best to have less prep (where Damn Delicious‘ slow cooker recipe comes in!) + B’s weird about artichoke leaves, so the slow cooker ensures they’re nice & tender.
4. Best Guacamole Recipe from What’s Gaby Cooking
It wasn’t long ago that we had a false belief that we were allergic to avocados (don’t ask), but thankfully we’re not because guacamole is one of our favorite snacks any day of the week. This recipe from What’s Gaby Cooking is our tried-and-true snack for game day!
5. Crispy Fried Ravioli from The Chunky Chef
In college we worked at an Italian restaurant (shout out to Oregano’s!) that had delicious toasted ravioli as an appetizer & ever since we moved to California, we’ve missed it. This recipe from The Chunky Chef should do the trick!
6. Fried Mac-and-Cheese Balls from Foodie Crush
We LOVE the Trader Joe’s mac & cheese balls (among many other appetizers), but we’ve always wanted to make our own for game day. These tasty-looking treats from Foodie Crush have a potato chip crust, which sounds amazing! We might add the Buffalo Bleu Kettle Chips for a little kick.
7. Pull-Apart Pretzel Skillet with Beer Cheese Dip
This savory game-day recipe from Host the Toast also works for Oktoberfest parties! We love cheese & soft pretzels, so this is a win-win.
8. French Onion Dip from The Kitchn
I’m never one to say “Ooo I hope they have onion dip there!” when we go to a party or out to eat, but somehow, whenever it’s in front of me, I can’t stop eating it. We definitely want to add this healthy take on the recipe from The Kitchn to our list of must-try recipes.
9. Life-Changing Queso Dip from Recipe Tin Eats
What could be better than cheese? Hot, melted cheese with delicious spices & crispy chips dipped into it. We can’t wait to try this recipe from Recipe Tin Eats to see if it’s really life changing!
10. Cheesy Pull-Apart Pesto Bread from Carlsbad Cravings
Pesto is delicious & bread is one of our favorite food groups, so it’s safe to say we can’t wait to try this game-day recipe from Carlsbad Cravings. Plus, it’s super pretty!
